Whisp Carbon XC Rim

Whisp is We Are One's XC race rim, with the lowest weight (380g) in the Convergence range and a lay up tuned to provide a light, fast and responsive feel.

WR1 are Canada's pioneer in hand-laid carbon mountain bike rims and have been hand-laying carbon rims under one roof in Kamloops, BC since 2017. 

Every rim is laid up by a named technician, assigned a serial number, and produced entirely under one roof in Kamloops. No sanding, no filling, no painting over. What comes out of the mould is the product. Every gram has a job, nothing on a WR1 rim is there by accident.

The Convergence rim's sinuous profile with angled alternating faces isn't just aesthetic, it's engineered so that each face aligns the nipple bed precisely with the hub flange, creating a linear spoke line and full 360° contact between nipple and rim. No point loading, no uneven stress leads to a spoke interface that stays tight and true, and outlasts everything around it.

ZRT composite film from Boston Materials keep nipple beds locked and spoke tension consistent across every mile. 13 billion Z-axis carbon fibres per square meter, the same material trusted in military and aerospace, is built directly into the spoke bed. The result is a rim 32% stronger than its predecessor with tuned vertical compliance that absorbs trail chatter without surrendering lateral stiffness.

We Are One rims warranty their carbon rims for life against defects in materials and workmanship. They also cover riding impact damage. If you take a hard hit on the trail while riding within the wheel's intended use and the rim fails, WR1 will replace it.
